I was taking a shower today and my sister asked if I would get scalded if she ran water in the sink. I didn't know since I live alone. It made me think...when SOB was here he was taking a shower in the morning. I flushed the toilet and ran water with complete disregard. I had a flash thought of, "oohh, this might make it cold or really hot on him in the shower", and then I flushed with impunity.
So, next time you wonder if you really care for someone, ask yourself, "Self, would I care if my flushing will cause scalding water to go down their back?"
